| The skill in producing traditional decorative finishes,
colourwashes or broken colourwork as it is more commonly known has
been a well kept secret down the years.
The basic idea is very simple. A glaze is mixed with
the paint and applied to the surface which is then worked
or broken to create the desired effect with a variety
of tools such as brushes, rags, polythene, sponges and combs.
The issues over oil-based glazes, such as slow drying and dangerous
fumes have been overcome with the introduction of Albany Classic
Colour, an easy to use water based transparent glaze for use with
emulsion paints.
