Dopamine Décor - Worldly Wanderer

Dopamine décor is all about letting go of trends and decorating a space that brings you nothing but happiness! Using your past experiences, future dreams and happiest memories can be a fantastic source of inspiration when creating a design scheme for your space. Here is Dan, our photographer to talk about his love of travel and how this inspired his take on what dopamine décor means to him.
The Inspiration:
I have always loved travelling. The
feeling of a new landscape filled with culture brings such sense of joy and
adventure to me. When I was putting a design together, I knew I wanted to
incorporate my love of travel of places I’ve been to and places I am still yet
to see.
The Design And Creating The Look:
Once I saw the Albany wallpaper Palace
Dreams, I knew I wanted to base my whole scheme around it. I also wanted to use
different painting techniques and build up the layers of colour. I started with
a base coat of Butternut and sponged Thirst Quencher over the top. After this,
I got a little more creative and flicked Lip Gloss using brushes to create a
really cool effect. I decided to paint the alcove in Cypress and outline the
alcove with a strip of Lip Gloss to tie all the colours together.
Dan’s top tips:
- Take time to look through different wallpaper collections to find exactly the right design for you – head into your local Brewers and browse through the books!
- Once you have selected a few designs you can order free wallpaper samples at Brewers – you can then use these in your space to test colours and finalise your favourite design.
- Most importantly, have fun with it!
