How To Be More Efficient With Paint
July 22nd, 2024
Being more efficient with paint can
save time, money and is even a little kinder on the environment too. Here are our
top tips to help you become more efficient with paint.
1. Calculate
how much paint you need for your project.
Taking the time to measure your walls to calculate how much paint you need will help you buy the right amount of paint without having lots to spare. If you head into your local Brewers, they can help you calculate how much paint you need.

2. Storing
left over paint.
If you have left
over paint, make sure to store it properly. You can store it in a labelled jar
if there is a little left which is perfect for touch ups. Make sure to store
any left-over paint in a sealed container to avoid any contaminants getting
into the paint as you won’t be able to use it.
3. Wrap your brushes, rollers and tray between coats.
If you’re waiting
to apply your second coat, simply wrap your rollers, brushes, trays and kettles
in cling film or tin foil as this will keep the paint fresh without having to
wash everything out between coats. Just be sure to clean everything fully once
you have finished decorating fully.
4. Clean and prep properly.
Making sure walls
are clean, holes and cracks are filled, and the necessary primers are applied before
you start painting will help massively with efficiency. The right preparation
will not only result in a better finish, but it is a lot less likely for the
finish to cause problems later down the line.
5. Choosing the right products.
Making sure you
have chosen the right paint system before you start decorating is important, as
the finish is less likely to fail. Need advice on the right products for the
job? Head into your local Brewers Decorator Centre or get in touch with our Customer Service Team who will be able to give you
