Floor Paint
Floor Paint is a tough, durable, high opacity floor
coating designed for use on floors, tiles, concrete, masonry,
cement and many other surfaces. Suitable for foot and light
truck traffic.
Floor Paint is available in twelve standard colours and helps
protect, decorate, and prevent dusting.
Preparation
Surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from grease, oil and dirt. On bare concrete, prime with one coat of Floor Paint thinned 10% with Coo-Var Thinners 14. New concrete should be allowed to dry and cure (for approx 3 months) before applying the primer coat. Exceptionally smooth surfaces (e.g. concrete levelling compound or power floated floors) should be abraded first using Coo-Var Acid Etch or abrading machine to provide a good 'key'. Floor Paint can be used on suitably primed wood.
Application
By brush, roller or spray. ENSURE ADEQUATE VENTILATION.
Special Notes: Stir well before use. Take care to apply the paint to the correct film thickness (dried film about 30 microns per coat).
Use the coverage guide as an indication of how much paint you require. Extra care should be taken to avoid 'pooling' on uneven surfaces. If the paint is too thick it will 'skin' and not hard dry. Do not apply second coat until you have checked the first is hard dry.
Drying Times
Touch Dry: 4 hours. Hard Dry: 12 hours @ 20°C. Full hardness reached over 5-7 days.
Overcoat Time: 12 hours or overnight
Coverage Guide: 10 square metres per litre
Brushwash/Thinners: Thinners 14
