A Century of Brewers Tunbridge Wells

Brewers’ story in Tunbridge Wells began in 1926 when the company opened its first premises in Grosvenor Road. With the help of local knowledge, a strong customer focus and plenty of entrepreneurial spirit, the branch quickly established itself as a trusted supplier to decorators and tradespeople across the area.

As the business grew, Brewers moved to larger premises in Calverley Road in 1930. Over the following decades the branch expanded its product ranges, delivery services and showroom facilities, becoming one of the company’s most successful and important locations.

The branch’s success has always been built on its people. Generations of colleagues helped guide Tunbridge Wells through challenging periods, including the Second World War, before overseeing decades of growth and development. Their dedication created lasting relationships with customers and established the branch as a cornerstone of the local decorating community.

Current Brewers Tunbridge Wells store

In the 1970s the branch moved once again, this time to its current High Brooms location, creating the space needed for future growth. Today, as we celebrate 100 years in Tunbridge Wells, we honour the colleagues, customers and communities who have been part of this remarkable journey and helped make the branch one of the jewels in the Brewers crown.
