Supporting Age UK Tunbridge Wells

August 23rd, 2022

Jason from Brewers Tunbridge Wells donated a range of decorating supplies to Age UK Tunbridge Wells after hearing about their Day Centre needing a little bit of love.

Age UK Tunbridge Wells supports the older generation in the community, offering a variety of services that help people remain independent, whilst receiving an abundance of support.

In the past 12 months, 26,824 hot meals have been served, 5,023 shopping trips delivered, 68 virtual sessions have been held, 10,654 welfare calls made, and 10,773 hours of independent living support has all been carried out by the fantastic team at Age UK Tunbridge Wells.

The Day Centre is the heart of the organisation, home to a café, craft classes, community groups and more. The centre is open to every older person in the community who may need some extra support or a friendly face.

The outside area needed some TLC to revamp the benches, fences and generally make the outside areas a space for people to enjoy. Paints, preparation products and brushes were donated by Brewers Tunbridge Wells for volunteers to put to good use!

As a part of AXA’s corporate social responsibility scheme, Age UK Tunbridge Wells was selected as one of the charities AXA could support by sending some employee volunteers to help spruce up the day centre.

The final result looks fantastic, and we can’t wait to hear about more of the brilliant work Age UK Tunbridge Wells carries out.
