Celebrating the King’s Coronation

May 5th, 2023

As a Royal Warrant Holder, Brewers are excited to get involved and promote some fantastic initiatives to celebrate the King’s Coronation! The Big Lunch and The Big Help Out have been designed to bring communities together from across the UK to mark this significant milestone in British history.

The Big Lunch:

Created by Eden Project Communities, The Big Lunch brings neighbours and communities together to share friendship, food and fun! We’re joining millions across the UK and planning a Big Lunch at Albany House, Eastbourne with colleagues to celebrate.

Get Involved!

Plan your own Big Lunch between the 6th- 8th of May or join in the fun in June as a part of the month of community. The idea is that by starting simple, and bringing people together to share friendship, food and fun with a Big Lunch, all sorts of ideas and projects can follow. It can lead to people doing more within their community and together tackling the issues that matter to them most.

1. Pick a date and invite the neighbours

2. Add a little extra - decorations, music and games!

3. Tickle the tastebuds – ask everybody to get involved and bring a tasty treat or two

4. Fundraise – this is a great opportunity to raise money for a great cause.

5. Enjoy the day – don’t forget having fun is the most important part!

6. Share away! Share your Big Lunch online and use the hashtags #CoronationBigLunch #TheBigLunch on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram

The Big Help Out:

The Big Help Out is an opportunity for people to help out in their local communities by making it even easier to lend a helping hand. From rolling up your sleeves to help a local group, to joining some of the UK’s best-known national charities - Monday May 8th will be your chance to get involved.

The Big Help Out have a list of ways you can volunteer in your neighbourhood, and their app can be installed here. With many well-known charities already signed up, you will be able to find a list of volunteering opportunities in your area. Whether you can lend an hour, a day or a regular time, charities and organisations up and down the country need help in all shapes and sizes.

Organisations with volunteering opportunities, or who would like to take part in the day should visit thebighelpout.org.uk to find out how to take part, register opportunities, and show their support.
