Home-working is the norm these days, and the right environment can make work more enjoyable and productive. Brewers have everything you need to upcycle an old table into a great work desk.
Here are two typical desk types and what products we recommend to transform them.
Before starting a project, always review the manufacturer's instructions for using a product, as some do not require any preparation prior to use.
PRE-PAINTED OR UNTREATED WOOD
Top Coat
Try Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint, it is water based, can be applied to multiple surfaces and requires no pre-sanding.
Finish
Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint Wax is designed to finish your transformation by sealing and protecting whilst creating a mellow matt finish. Ask in store for more details.
OILED, WAXED OR VARNISHED WOOD
Preparation
Remove imperfections before and in between coats using Oakey Between Coats. Suitable for both and and machine sanding methods.
Finish
Osmo Polyx-Oil gives a hard wearing and durable finish that will emphasise the wood's natural grain and give it water repellent protection.Legs
Why not funk things up a bit with an alternative colour or finish?
For timer legs, we recommend a durable, decorative paint such as Rust-Oleum Furniture Paint. it is hard wearing and also comes in metallic finishes!
