How To Use The New Brewers Timber Repair System
April 1st, 2026
Brewers Timber Repair is a brand-new,
comprehensive range of products designed to enable high quality, durable and
cost-effective timber repairs to be carried out, with the minimum of effort and
maximum efficiency.
Brewers Timber Repair was developed as
a permanent, effective and practical alternative to replacing damaged or
rot-affected in-situ timber joinery units. It is ideal for repairing windows,
doors, frames and facias.
Discover The Range:
1. Timber Repair Stabiliser
A high quality, two-part, solvent free, brush applied epoxy Stabiliser designed to be painted over the area to be repaired once all of the damaged timber has been removed.
The stabiliser acts to strengthen the timber fibres and helps ensure maximum
adhesion of the Timber Repair compound.
Timber Repair stabiliser is supplied pre-measured in two small plastic bottles at a ratio of 2:1.
One bottle contains the base component and the other contains the activator.
Small amounts may be prepared using the measuring caps located on top of the bottle lids.
It is important that the caps are not mixed up.
Having first removed all the decayed timber and establishing that the moisture content of the timber is less than 18%, the products should be mixed thoroughly and applied to the repair area liberally using a disposable brush.
Apply the stabiliser to the affected area with a brush and allow it to penetrate for at least 20 minutes and then remove any excess with absorbent paper.
The
stabiliser must not be left for more than eight hours before applying the Timber
Repair resin as its adhesive qualities will be reduced.
2. Timber Repair 4 Hour
A two-part, solvent free, anti-slump, high build epoxy filler that, once cured, displays all the characteristics of timber, which means it can be sanded, planed, screwed, drilled, or painted with any surface coating.
Timber Repair 4 hour is supplied in a
385ml twin cartridge, and also as a two-part pot system.
The twin cartridge includes a larger tube containing the base component, and a smaller tube containing the activator component.
The product is dispensed in a specially designed dosing tool, which ensures that the correct ratio of base and activator is always extruded.
For the ‘two pot’ system, the base and activator come in two separate pots supplied as a set.
Measure out both using a clean spatula or suitable scoop - 3 parts or scoops of base resin to one part or scoop of activator by weight or volume.
Replace the lids once finished. Do not cross contaminate products so ensure clean spatulas are used when decanting.

Once cured (see curing guide on the technical data sheet), the product can be sanded, planed, screwed, drilled and over-painted with any surface coating just the same as traditional timber.
Due to its excellent adhesive qualities and flexibility, Timber Repair 4 hour will "move" with the surrounding timber, thus preventing the future breakdown of the new repairs.
3. Timber Repair 1 Hour
A two-part, solvent free, Rapid Curing Epoxy Filler, particularly useful for minor repairs, responsive repairs and in conjunction with splicing and cill replacement.
Once cured, it displays the same characteristics as Timber Repair 4 Hour.
Timber Repair 1 hour is supplied in a 400ml, twin cartridge, with both base and activator components in 200ml side-by-side tubes.
The product is dispensed by using a purpose designed dosing tool that ensures the correct ratio of base to activator is always extruded.
The product is dispensed on to a plastic mixing board for mixing by hand.
When using Timber Repair 1 hour as a "filler" it may be used in conjunction with Perspex shuttering to prevent slumping.
The cure time is approximately one hour, making it the ideal product to use on responsive and "one-off" repairs.
