Mural brings music to the walls of New Cross!

December 1st, 2016

The former 1911 New Cross Library that now houses one of London’s best studio complexes was given a funky new look earlier this year.

Music Room London www.musicroomlondon.com is a unique building offering studio space for a variety of bands, practicing drummers and instrumentalists, dance groups and theatrical productions for rehearsals and all sorts of other sessions plus photographic and video shoot applications.

‘Its created an alternative illusionary space that converses with the facade’

Patricio Forester
Artmongers

A mural, created on the side of the building and commissioned by Music Room London, was designed and painted by public art organisation Artmongers’ www.artmongers.org. Using a selection of Albany paints, the talented artist Patricio Forester has transformed the look of the area creating “an alternative illusionary space that converses with the facade” Artmongers.

The mural took several months, a number of generous volunteers and quite a bit of scaffolding to complete during the summer with Albany paint and materials supplied by Brewers Decorator Centre in Peckham.
