ProDec Advance Women’s Painter’s Trousers created by women, for women

“Please make trousers to fit ladies – we don’t want a ‘unisex’ option,” and “Fit is a big problem.” Time and time again ProDec heard the same issues.

ProDec had been involved in some lively debates over the years about the lack of choice for females when it came to painters’ workwear.

As a leading brand in the painting and decorating sector, ProDec are always adapting and evolving to the needs of our customers, and therefore set about creating a dedicated trouser for women. 

Through some frank discussions and a listening exercise, the team conclude that they needed to start again when looking to solve the problem for so many female decorators coming into the profession. 

They looked at the key issues: “Options available but expensive for a pair of trousers I replace every couple of month”, “Very little women’s workwear on the market that’s affordable”, “I wore the men’s option previously and they were great, but on the women’s range they removed all the useful parts of them, like the holster pockets and hammer loop, which is super insulting” - all comments posted on an online discussion ProDec instigated in early 2019.

This is how the ProDec Advance Women’s Painter’s Trousers was created: by women, for women.

ProDec Advance Women’s Painter’s Trousers feature a high-rise elasticated waist designed specifically for a woman’s shape, triple stitched seams for durability and multiple pockets for storing tools, scissors and a mobile phone. 

Available in sizes 8-18 with a standard leg length, each pair includes a Wipe-Mate, an innovative, washable patch to wipe hands which attaches to buttons at the side. The ProDec Pouch-Mate, an attachable pouch large enough to hold a paper hanging brush and other tools, can be purchased separately.
