Teal is a great choice for your home, whether using paint or wallcoverings. A rich blue-green colour which fades and strengthens depending on light and depth of colour; ranging from soft, pale silvery verdigris shades to deep dramatic colours which are almost green. Perhaps technically it should match the bird it’s named after but with a little artistic licence it can embrace a wide range of shades.

Calm, cool blue mixed with natural elements of green combine to create a colour which should be welcome on every wall. This beautiful shade which adds a richness and sense of sophistication to every room is the perfect companion to greys, silver and natural wood colours. Style it chic or relaxed, depending on your personal taste.

Teal remains one of the strongest trends in interior decoration.

It is also an easy to find shade whether you’re looking for paint, wallpaper or accessories. For paint, try Farrow & Ball’s Vardo, Little Greene’s Canton, Albany’s Morning Room or Paint Library and Zoffany’s aptly named Teal shades plus many more – all available at Brewers.

Wallpaper gives an opportunity to add pattern and texture to walls and there are some lovely options for Teal whether bold and bright or soft and subtle. For a standout look, check out Clarke & Clarke’s Passiflora in Kingfisher (shown above) or for something more understated try Casadeco’s Ocelle in Green. All available at Brewers.
