What Happens To Discontinued Wallpaper Pattern Books? Find Out With Brewers Uckfield!

Brewers Uckfield recently donated a large number of discontinued wallpaper and fabric books to the Occupational Therapy Department (OT) at Eastbourne District General Hospital for use in therapeutic interventions with their patients.

The books were shared amongst both the physical and mental health OT teams with the papers being used for card making and more complex origami depending on the patients physical and wellbeing needs. 

The excess books were then further donated to the Eastbourne Scrap Store who are on a mission to stop things going to landfill, make art and crafts affordable for everyone and to create a community that supports people's health and wellbeing. 

Fabric from the books have been used by the Scrap Store to help cover 6 chairs for Eastbourne Foodbank. 

The first chair has already been completed and looks stunning!

Store Manager, Robyn Shrubbs said:

“It’s been wonderful to hear and see photos of how these books, which would have otherwise gone to waste, have been used to help the local community and I am so glad we could also highlight the important work of the OT teams and the Eastbourne Scrap Store.”
