Proud Sponsors Of The Eastbourne 10k

Brewers were thrilled to sponsor the Eastbourne 10k that took place last month, raising money for charity Matthew 25 Mission and organised by Eastbourne Runs.

Taking place along Eastbourne Seafront, over 500 runners took part in brilliant sunshine with Bryan Brett and Harriet Bloor completing the course in record times. The Eastbourne 10k was set up by passionate runners Sue and Liz in 2018. Along with the Eastbourne Half Marathon, both events have raised over £20,000 for local charities who make such a difference within the local community.

This year’s chosen charity, Matthew 25 Mission, dedicate themselves to help support vulnerable and marginalised communities in Eastbourne. £3023 was donated to Matthew 25 Mission by Eastbourne Runs in 2022, enabling them to purchase 2 industrial sized freezers. At Eastbourne’s Brodie Hall, the charity provides around 175 meals a day and offer a safe, warm space, for either breakfast, lunch or both. Each week at least 160 of their guests are helped in more depth by their key-working and outreach teams, either with housing, benefit advice, addiction advice and support or anything else they need.
