We've been keeping you up to date with the stories behind the mural in the Brandon Estate, the fourth half hexagon on the wall was designed by one of the team’s drop-in sessions, where local school children spoke about what they loved most about Kennington Park.

The kids spoke about how they loved to play all kinds of sports throughout the year, but one sport in particular came to the fore. Basketball was named as one of the most popular that the park offered and a pastime that the children loved to partake in.

Whether it was when they were receiving drills from their coach or just playing with friends in the sun, basketball was a clear favourite.

One of the children present at the drop-in session exclaimed with excitement that “basketball is the best part of playing in the park!”

On the courts in Kennington Park, the children feel like superheroes, capable of doing anything. The team worked hard to encapsulate this exact feeling of excitement and invincibility and so portrayed one of the children wearing a superhero cape.
