Brewers are Proud to Support Halton Women’s Centre

November 29th, 2021

As a part of the Riverside College painting and decorating course, students are required to carry out vital work experience that runs alongside the course. This year, Brewers have been honoured to be a part of the project, with students decorating Halton Women’s centre, a safe and independent setting which offers a multitude of different services to support women of all ages in the community of Halton.

Over the course of October, the centre was redecorated by Riverside College students, which required a range of decorating supplies Brewers were only too happy to donate. Over 100L of paint was donated in a range of colours and finishes suitable for the rooms in both phase 1 and 2 of the project, with plenty of sundries to be used as well.

23 students were involved with the project, both level 1 and level 2 painting and decorating students who wanted to work with Halton Women’s Centre to support a fantastic organisation helping vulnerable people in the local community. With virtually no budget and a tired centre, it was a pleasure to be able to work with the college to complete the project.

Laurence Zing, Process Support Manager for Brewers has been working with colleges in the local area for several years, through the donation of supplies and sponsoring student awards evenings. He said “Riverside College trains students to a high standard which aligns with our core values; helping our customers get the best results. We're very happy to be involved in a project that not only provides invaluable practical experience to the students but also supports the local community.  My colleagues Steven Traynor (Area Development Manager) and James Lavery (Branch Manager) have worked extremely hard to fulfil my pledge and create a fantastic collaboration with Riverside College and Halton Women’s Centre.”
