It’s Not Just A Tin Of Paint! A Huge Thanks From Local Scout Group
December 14th, 2023
Brewers Ipswich were delighted
to help out a local scout group whose hut was in desperate need of some
refurbishment.
Kate Ramsell, the Secretary of 1st Capel St Mary Scout Group was looking for some Bedec Barn Paint to update the building, as the paint had been recommended to her by a parent of one of the scouts.
Branch Manager, Graham Eggleton was keen to support them and provided a free 5 litre can of the paint in Anthracite matt.
Kate said: ‘We are a small village scout group and as such don't have the monies coming in that larger town groups have, and we rely on donations to help with activities and maintenance. I did try some of the more obvious DIY stores first, but they were all tied into their own larger, charitable causes which left no room to support small charities like our little scout group.'
‘I then happened to drive near Brewers and I just thought I'd give them a go, but didn't hold out much luck as I thought they would also be tied to a large charity. However, Graham was wonderful! He replied so quickly to me and was more than happy to help us out. When I went to the store to collect the tub of paint, the staff knew exactly who I was and what I needed, so Graham had obviously communicated this well to them.’
She added:
‘Everyone on our committee was so happy and surprised that I'd managed to find
somewhere to help us and the paint was perfect. It was nice to know that
there are companies out there that can support small village activities and
aren't tied into the usual bigger stuff. To Graham it was just a tin of
paint, but honestly, it's just given our run-down hut (and our meagre finances)
such a boost. Can't thank Graham and the Ipswich branch enough!’
