The new formula of Albany AF1 Ceiling Paint delivers a range of key improvements designed to make ceiling work quicker, cleaner and easier. It’s lighter to handle, features a non-spatter formula for tidier application, and has improved recoat times to help you move through jobs more efficiently. Performance through a sprayer has also been enhanced, delivering excellent results whether applying by brush, roller or spray.

With the upgrades, AF1 retains the same trusted qualities decorators rely on. Remaining a water-based ceiling coating packed with matting agents to help hide imperfections and reduce brush and roller marks, creating a smooth, consistent super flat matt finish with dependable anti-flashing performance.

Albany AF1: The Ultimate Anti-Flashing Ceiling Paint

Flashing is where, in certain lighting conditions or from certain angles, a painted surface appears to have patches of higher sheen, leaving an uneven finish.

Albany AF1 is specially formulated to avoid this, thanks to its super flat matt finish and ultra-low sheen, non-reflective properties, helping deliver a professional ceiling finish with no distractions.

FAQs

Can the old and new versions be used together?

No, as the two products are different formulations they are not compatible, so they must not be mixed. Anyone currently using the existing version should either complete the job with that product or start again using the new formulation only.

What pack sizes are available?

The new Albany AF1 Ceiling Paint is available in 10L (12L tub for optional thinning) and a brand new 5L size.

What is the coverage?

Coverage using the new formulation has improved greatly to around 13m² per litre - previously 9m² per litre.

What are the recoat times?

The new formulation has improved recoat times of 2–4 hours - an improvement on the original recoat time of 4–6 hours.

How sprayable is the product?

Albany AF1 performs very well when sprayed and has shown excellent results during our rigorous testing carried out by professional decorators. AF1 delivers a smooth and flawless finish every time.

What about spatter?

Testing has shown no spatter when applied.

Has the odour been improved?

Yes, the new formulation has a low odour, making it more pleasant to work with.

What colour is the new AF1?

Albany AF1 is white, the same as the previous version.
