Opportunities With Experience Celebrates International Women’s Day

Brewers are proud to support Opportunities With Experience (O-W-E), helping women train and work in construction trades. On International Women’s Day, O-W-E hosted a special event in Gravesend on behalf of Gravesham Council showcasing ‘revamp and recycle’ with chalk paint which we were thrilled to be able to supply for free.

Every attendee also walked away with some Brewers freebies! O-W-E ran two sessions, reaching out to disadvantaged women and teaching them new skills, learning more about the industry.

A huge part O-W-E play is empowering females to move into a male dominated industry. The CEO, Angela Steele, is an experienced painter and decorator and has encountered most scenarios, enabling O-W-E to give the women a true reflection on construction, and to make a mark in changing modern day construction sites. 

The role of the programme is to help women and others see trade skills possibilities, as well as help them recognise their own skills, transferable skills, and abilities, then applying them with the powerfulness needed to move forward in their own journey.

Leftover paint from the event will be put towards the upcoming 'Revamp & Recycle With Paint' courses - reaching out to many more disadvantaged women. We can’t wait to hear all about it!
