Brewers were delighted to support The
Brighton & Hove Food Partnership (BHFP) with the donation of Albany Durable
Matt, Albany Super Satin and Albany Masterdec to help them improve a new venue
space for local community groups.
More about the BHFP:
The BHFP is a hub for information, inspiration and connection around food.
They work with individuals and community groups by helping people learn to cook, grow food, access a healthy diet and waste less.
They work with local people experiencing marginalisation,
isolation, poor health and other life challenges and strive to make lasting
changes to habits and behaviours which improve lives.
Over 15,000 people have benefitted
from their projects since they were founded in 2003 with work ranging from
community and therapeutic gardening; redistributing and reducing food waste;
tackling food poverty (by working with food banks, lunch clubs and
decision-makers); and teaching about cookery and nutrition.
Food activities benefit thousands of residents in every neighbourhood of the city each year with the BHFP regularly invited to present their work to other towns and cities looking to adopt the same approach.
Their work in Brighton & Hove has helped to see 'Food
Partnerships' setup in 80 other places in the UK.
The Clubhouse:
Set within the stunning South Downs National Park, the BHFP are converting the building into a venue for hire - as well as a hub for wellbeing groups for local people with a range of health conditions and disadvantages.
The clubhouse requires a lot of renovating, so we were thrilled to be able to contribute with the redecorating phase!
