In detail

Crown Trade Protective Coatings High Build Micaceous Iron Oxide is for exterior use on ferrous metal surfaces. Suitable for structural steelwork, fire escapes, railings and gates where it provides excellent corrosion resistance. 

Can also be used as a finish in its own right where a protective coating is required, but aesthetics are not important. 

Leaves a matt finish. Application is by brush, roller or spray with coverage up to 8 sq/m per litre. Touch dry in 4 hours and recoatable in 16 hours.

Additional information

Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be clean and free from anything that will interfere with the materials to be applied. Wash with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove oil, grease or any other contaminants, frequently changing the water.

Rinse thoroughly with clean wash. Allow to dry.

Non-Ferrous Metals

Lightly abrade to a bright (not polished) surface – excluding galvanised surfaces. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all residues. Allow to dry.

Ferrous Metals

Remove all millscale and rust back to clean metal. Remove all residues. Prime all prime metalwork within the working day.

Application

Stir well before use. Apply by brush, roller or spray.

Clearing Up

Return surplus materials to container. Clean with a proprietary cleaner immediately after use.
