Crown Trade Acrylic Primer Undercoat is a low VOC content finish. A product which is thinned with water and is applied by brush and is suitable for interior and exterior use. 
Touch dry in 1 hour and recoatable after 4 hours.

Do not apply when air or substrate temperatures are likely to fall below 8°C or when the relative humidity is above 80% during application or the drying period.

Additional Information

For exterior use. Crown Trade Stronghold Exterior Primer Undercoat is the first step in the Crown Trade Stronghold Exterior Gloss system. It has been formulated to provide long lasting, high gloss protection for exterior wood. It may also be used as an undercoat on correctly primed metal. Crown Trade Stronghold Exterior Primer Undercoat can be used on primed or unprimed wood or over existing paint. It also seals wood and provides a flexible base on which to apply Crown Trade Stronghold Exterior Gloss.

Preparation

Ensure all surfaces are sound, dry, clean and free from dirt, oil, grease or other contamination. Any grey or denatured timber will need sanding back to a clean smooth surface. Ensure all loose and flaking material is removed.

For bare wood and maximum flexibility: apply one coat of Crown Trade Stronghold Primer / Undercoat followed by two coats of Crown Trade Stronghold Exterior Gloss.

For previously painted surfaces in sound condition: wash with a warm water detergent solution and thoroughly abrade. For maximum protection one coat of Crown Trade Stronghold Primer / Undercoat followed by one or two coats of Crown Trade Stronghold Exterior Gloss is recommended.

Wood should have a moisture content below 18%. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. For further information contact our Customer Relations Team.

Application

Stir thoroughly. Apply by brush only.

Do not use in temperatures below 8°C or in high humidity.

Spreading Capacity

Approximately 15m2 per litre on a smooth surface of low porosity.

Drying

Touch dry from 4-6 hours.

Recoatable after 16 hours.

Cleaning

Clean equipment with a proprietary cleaner immediately after use.

Ensure this pack is stored upright and secure at all times. Crown Paints Ltd cannot accept liability for damage caused by spillage. Do not store below 5°C or above 40°C.
