Dulux Trade Weathershield Preservative Primer is a penetrating primer to seal and preserve exterior wooden surfaces against water damage, decay and blue stain fungi. Provides 8 years of weather protection when used as part of the full Dulux Trade Weathershield paint system. 

This product is applied by brush with a coverage up to 5 sq/m per litre and a touch dry and recoatable time of 12-24 hours.

Additional information

Part 1, of a 3 part weather resistant and flexible paint system from Dulux Trade. Penetrates into wood to seal and preserve against water damage, decay and blue stain fungi. Provides 8 year weathering durability, when used as part of the full Weathershield exterior paint system.

Surface Preparation

To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry (new surfaces particularly must be fully dry).

System Information

MIX THOROUGHLY BY SHAKING THE CONTAINER BEFORE USE. Pour out a sufficient amount of primer for the job into a suitable container. Do not thin. Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from any surface coating, mould or algae before use. Use pre-treated timber for in ground contact situations. Apply two even coats. Allow 24 hours for second coat to dry. Lightly sand before application of Weathershield Exterior Flexible Undercoat, or Weathershield Quick Dry Exterior Undercoat.

Apply by brush only. Do not spray. Up to 5m² coverage per litre.

Cleaning Up

After use, remove as much primer as possible from equipment before cleaning with water. Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.
