Suregrip®
Coo-Var Suregrip is a ready mixed anti-slip floor coating. By containing a professionally dispersed combination of resins bonded to aggregates, the resultant surface is not only a true anti-slip abrasive finish but it also provides a good degree of durability, decoration and protection.
Suregrip is ideal for use in critical areas such as doorways, steps, stairways, ramps, around machinery and any location where moisture or other substances may make floors slippery. Can be applied to concrete, GRP, and suitably prepared wood and metal. Designed for foot and light truck traffic.
Preparation
Stir only if necessary (do not use a mechanical shaker). Surface should be clean, dry and free from wax and grease. New concrete should be dry (2-3 months after laying). Smooth concrete surfaces should be etched. Remove salts from new concrete (Acid Etch). On the clean, prepared concrete apply a coat of Coo-Var Floor Paint (not Suregrip) of the appropriate colour which has been thinned 10% with Thinners 14 (do not thin Suregrip). This will act as a primer sealer. Metal should be suitably primed. On GRP use an appropriate primer or abrade the surface to provide a good 'key'. On wooden surfaces, apply a suitable oil based wood primer if new/untreated or for previously painted surfaces, sand down then remove any loose or flaking material and dust down before spot priming any bare areas.
Application
By brush or roller. A single coat may be adequate. A second coat can be advantageous. Avoid applying too thickly - this will result in slow drying and impaired performance.
Drying Time
Touch Dry: 5 hours. Hard Dry: 24 hours.
Overcoat Time: 16 hours or overnight
Coverage Guide: 6-10 square metres per litre
