Specialty adhesive is suitable for hanging glass fabric, Wallrock, hessians, grasscloth, suede, flocks, textiles, polystyrene veneers and polystyrene coving as per manufacturer's instructions. For paper-backed wallcoverings use Albany Super Smooth Wallcoverings Adhesive with the yellow lid.

Surface Preparation

Surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free from damp, dust, grease and other contaminants. Any mould growth present must be treated with Albany Fungicidal Wash prior to hanging.

Porous Surfaces

Should be sizes with this adhesive mixed with an equal quantity of water or alternatively with a proprietary wall size. Allow to dry completely before hanging the wallcovering. Highly alkaline surfaces require a suitable primer.

Non-absorbent Surfaces

Such as gloss painted walls should be rubbed down with an abrasive paper and cross lined.

Pasting & Hanging

Always follow the wallcovering manufacturer's roll label instructions carefully. Apply adhesive generously and evenly to back of wallcovering or wall by brush, roller or toothed spatula as convenient. Hang in normal way. For expanded polystyrene, apply to prepared surface. Hang immediately and smooth down. Protect surrounding areas (floor covering etc.) from splashes. Remove any adhesive from the decorative face of the wallcovering immediately to avoid staining. Clean tools and equipment in warm soapy water.
