Johnstone's Trade Opaque Wood Finish is a solvent-based flexible coating for rough sawn timber, fences and cladding.Made to cover as a solid satin finish and hide surface defects.It is a microporous coating made to flex and breathe with the wood and has good resistance to blistering and peeling.Application is by brush with coverage up to 12sq/m per litreIt is recoatable between 16-24 hours.

Additional Information

Preparation

All surfaces to be treated should be clean, dry and free from loose or flaking material. Rub down sound glossy surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly to provide a key. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Treat any mould or lichen with sterilisation wash as directed. For maximum performance, old paint or varnish should be completely removed. Treat new or bare surfaces with Johnstone's All Purpose Preserver. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.


Application

Do not stir. The brush should be fully loaded for best results. Apply paint evenly by brush and avoid overspreading. Recoatable after 16-24

hours under normal conditions.


Coverage

Johnstone's Opaque Wood Finish will cover approximately 12 square metres per litre, depending on the nature and porosity of the surface.


After Use

Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Clean equipment immediately after use in white spirit or turpentine substitute. Replace lid firmly. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.

Do not empty product into drains or watercourses.


General Information

To avoid the risk of spillage, always store and transport in a secure upright position. Lift with care - gross weight does not exceed 8 kilograms.
