Shellac Sanding Sealer
This product is manufactured from Pure Shellac and Alcohol with a special additive included to facilitate sanding when dry. It should be used for sealing wood prior to waxing, but is often used as a finish in its own right, as it dries to a hard, clear film. Sanding Sealer should also be used to seal penetrating Wood Dyes to prevent them bleeding when varnishes containing white spirit are applied.
Directions
Shake well before use. Apply in a warm, dry atmosphere. The wood should be clean and smooth and stained, if necessary, before application with Rustins Wood Dyes. Apply liberally with a soft brush or pad and allow to dry. The drying time will be between 1-1½hours, depending upon temperature and humidity.
Rub down lightly with fine glasspaper before applying a second coat. When used as a finish, rub with 00 or 000 steel wool and wax polish, finishing with a soft cloth or yellow duster.
Clean brushes with Methylated Spirits.
