Lending a Helping Hand to the Friends of Ellington Park

May 27th, 2022

Brewers Decorator Centres donated 5L of Coo-Var Vandalene Anticlimb Paint and Spray Graffiti Remover to the Friends of Ellington Park, an organisation dedicated to putting the community at the heart of the park for eleven years.

In the past year, the park has undergone many renovations, bringing new life to the café, bandstand, and surrounding areas. Many community initiatives have been set up by the organisation including litter picking to ensure the park stays in a beautiful condition.

The park is also home to a community book shop, created from an old shipping container to help raise funds for the upkeep of the park. Unfortunately, the shop is frequently subject to vandalism which requires constant attention.

The shop has had a fresh lick of paint and Brewers were really happy to donate some Anticlimb paint to discourage vandalism and keep the park in tip top condition. Coo-Var Vandalene Anticlimb Paint remains sticky once applied, providing a slippery surface, and discouraging unauthorised access.

The park has meant a lot to so many over the past few years, so keeping the park a safe and fun place to be in is really important to the community. To celebrate the completion of park renovations, the May fair welcomed all members of the community to play games and enjoy the sunshine.

Ellington Park is situated in the heart of Ramsgate, Kent. A council managed park that is nurtured and supported by the Friends of Ellington Park Charity. In 2017 it was awarded a National Lottery grant enabling the development of a community cafe, toilets, the bandstand restored to its former glory and landscaping throughout the park with further trees & development of the local wildlife's habitat. The park played a huge part in the local people's wellbeing throughout covid. Unable to use the amenities the vast content of nature in a small place meant it was able to lift their spirits regardless. Now we are able to regain a normal pace of life it's become extremely popular with all it has to offer. As with any public place it will attract unwanted vandalism and with Brewers’ generosity and help, we have been able to remove the graffiti and apply anticlimb paint to the buildings in the park that play a huge role in rebuilding our community especially after the impact of the pandemic. Many thanks to Brewers from FOEP
