MK College Students Decorate Local Library

July 3rd, 2019

Brewers Decorator Centres have donated Albany paint to the decorating students of MK College to transform the event space at Milton Keynes Central Library.

The local Brewers Decorator Centre in Bletchley has strong links with the college. Karen Larr, the Regional Operations Manager comments “Brewers are so proud to be supporting the next generation of decorators at Milton Keynes College with paint, supplies and learning materials.

The library redecoration is a fantastic example of job they may face within their career and a great opportunity to practise the skills they have been learning for the benefit of the local community.”

Brewers donated 9, 12L tubs of Albany Supercover in white which was used to freshen up the events space at the central library, much loved by the local community.  The project was organised by Alfie Del Basso and Tony Rice, Course Team Leaders of Painting and Decorating at MK College in partnership with MK Council.

Alfie and Tony said: “We’re delighted to be able to support Milton Keynes Central Library. Painting their events space provided a great real-life opportunity for our painting and decorating students, and I’m proud to say that they’ve done a really professional job that will be enjoyed by the Milton Keynes community.

At the College we strive to provide work experiences for our students that will support their career ambitions. Partnerships with MK Council and organisations such as Brewers who kindly provided the paint enable us to do this”

The library is really pleased with the end result and the professionalism of the students, Helen Bowlt, Libraries Services Manager at MK Council adds: “The students have done an excellent job and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to play a small part in developing their professional qualifications.

We wish them luck with their future careers.”
