Decorating the Interior of a Narrow Boat

Chris Waghorn of the Period Ceiling Company has been creating beautifully handmade beams since 1999.
His latest project took an unusual turn as he was asked to decorate the inside of a long boat!
Once the boat had been all sanded down it was time to prime with Zinsser 1-2-3 plus, a fast-drying, water-based primer, sealer, and stain killer in one.
Chris then used Dulux Diamond Eggshell in a bespoke blue hue. For the worktops, a specialised paint system was used to achieve the marble look.
The water based HV’Art Lacquer paint system was created by Henry Van Der Vijver, a London based decorative artists, surface designer and colourist. Check out his work here.
This fantastic summer project was a challenge, but the end result was a fantastic finish both Chris and his client was happy with.
