Brave Ground! Dulux Colour of the Year 2021

September 23rd, 2020

A panel of decorating experts took inspiration from nature in selecting the warm and grounding shade of Brave Ground to be Dulux's 2021 Colour of the Year.

The natural tone creates a neutral canvas allowing other colours to shine in the home.

Adapting to its surroundings, Brave Ground also flexes in tone depending on the time of day and setting, creating a subtly responsive environment that’s reflective of people’s growing desire to align how they live with our planet.

Four supporting palettes provide decorators with the opportunity to give their customers inspiration, showing how Brave Ground can be used to decorate rooms in complementary colour schemes that create multi-functional but also nurturing home environments.

Panel Chair Heleen van Gent, Head of the AkzoNobel Global Aesthetic Centre, which chooses the colours, explains: “The past year has seen unprecedented change to all our lives.

“For many it has transformed the function of their homes. They are now environments to work, learn and relax.

“But, above all, during these challenging times, homes provide valuable respite. And that is at the heart of our Dulux Colour Of The Year choice for 2021 - Brave Ground.”

‘The organic tone of Brave Ground will allow decorators to talk to customers about creating a really comforting environment within their homes.’
