Little Greene Launch 27 New Paint Colours
October 20th, 2026
There’s always a little thrill when new colour cards land in
our inbox, and this one is a proper refresh. Little Greene has updated both of
its main colour cards, Colours of England and Colour Scales, with 27 new Little
Greene paint colours in the line-up. One of those, Putti, is a returning
favourite. I’ve been through the lot, and here’s what I think of the new shades
and how I’d use them.
Little Greene Colours of England: Five New Shades
The Little Greene Colours of England card still has 128
shades, a collection of timeless Little Greene paint colours that includes
authentic shades from the key periods of the last 300 years of decorative
history. Five of them are new.
Haye White 346 is my pick for an “everywhere white”. It has a lovely, suffused brightness and is a softer, warmer alternative to Slaked Lime 105 and the cooler Wood Ash 229.
Parlour 347 is a warm, pinkish off-white with a great story. Grand houses like the Baroque Dyrham Park near Bath were built with formal rooms for receiving guests, and the word “parlour” comes from the French parler, to speak. This shade was once used in a north-facing reception room known as the “Slop’t Parlour”, named for its view onto a sloping bank where a fountain would cool the air (and the guests) on hot days.
Perpetual Blue 348 has an interesting story behind it. The colour’s taken from a surviving paint palette of Sir Winston Churchill in his studio at Chartwell in Kent. Yes, really! You can paint your walls with a colour from Churchill’s own palette.
Floss 349 is a pink with confidence. It has the same undertone as Carmine 189 but about half the intensity, which makes it far easier to live with. Go big and use it on the walls for a bold pink scheme, or dot it around as an accent within a more subdued palette.
Ashes of Marigold 350 is a blackened, more usable version of the much-loved Marigold 209. It keeps the warmth and drops the fireworks. It’s a perfect example of the trend towards less heat.
What Are Little Greene Colour Scales?
If picking paint colours that work together leaves you feeling overwhelmed, Little Greene’s Colour Scales is for you. It’s a range of 18 ‘families’ rather than individual colours. Each ‘root’ colour comes with lighter and darker variations, so coordinating a colour scheme is much simpler.
The card has also had a makeover with the customer in mind. Stone and Grey are no longer separate collections. In their place are Neutral Scales and Colourful Scales.
Neutral scales start with warmer, pink undertones on the left, and move through yellow and green to cooler, blueish neutrals on the right.
Colourful scales are higher chroma Little Greene paint colours grouped into families. Choose shades from the same column for a seamless, harmonious scheme or move horizontally for a colour with similar weight but a different hue.
An Overview Of The 22 New Paint Colours From Colour Scales
Warm Neutrals
Hammock Family (Pale 351, Mid 352, Hammock 38, Hammock Dark 353)
is an unbleached calico.
In historic country houses, neutrals of this weight were
used instead of white on ceilings and fine plaster mouldings. It’s a lovely way
to bring period charm to a modern space.
Flight Pink 354 is a gentle, neutral rose-brown
shade that makes the perfect, inviting backdrop.
Marle 335 is a luxurious brown shade with comforting
warmth. It looks effortlessly chic when paired with natural, textured and
patterned furnishings.
Elysian Yellow 356 is a balanced, neutral yellow with
a fun backstory. Used in the intricate redecoration of The Chinese House in
Stowe, this shade was used on a small timber pavilion that once stood on stilts
in a pond near the estate’s ‘Elysian Fields’. Having been removed in 1751, the
building spent periods on other estates both locally and in Ireland and was
returned to Stowe to undergo a complete, but faithful, refurbishment in 1996.
Brûlée 357 is for those spaces you want to spark
energy and creativity. Team it with brighter yellows or let it loose as an
enigmatic signature colour among darker shades to really bring out its rich
tones.
Mid And Cooler Neutrals
Barge Stone Family (Pale 358, Mid 359, Barge Stone
360, Barge Stone Dark 361) is a timeless putty shade that sits perfectly
alongside cooler, natural finishes.
Oilcloth 362 is an excellent alternative to grey or
black for grounding a neutral scheme.
Cobble 363 is understated, subtle and neutral.
This clever grey coordinates effortlessly with cooler, modern schemes.
Putti 292 is a muted grey-green paint colour ideal
for hallways providing a relaxed and inviting scheme.
Colourful Scales
Celestial Blue Family 101 (Pale 364, Mid 365, Deep 366)
is a dusky variant of Sky Blue, this soft, blue paint colour works well
in both interior and exterior schemes.
Rome 367 is a deep, sophisticated blue which embraces
its green undertone without verging on turquoise.
Boxington (Pale 368, Mid 369, Deep 370,): a reduced lime shade which provides a relaxing and
elegant backdrop in dining rooms and studios.
Hillside 371: A warmer version of Sage Green,
‘Hillside’ is the perfect green for adding warmth to cool living rooms and
functional kitchens.
