Eastbourne's contribution to the Million Mile Beach Clean

July 12th, 2021

Surfers Against Sewage have introduced a campaign which targets 100,000 volunteers to get out and clean the places they love throughout the year of 2021.

After over a year of isolation and social distancing, the Million Mile Clean was put in place to reconnect communities with the environment whilst promoting the benefits of volunteering for both our physical and mental health. Now more than ever, it is crucial for us all to reconnect with the outdoors and the Million Mile Clean provides an opportunity for you to prioritise your health whilst also creating a positive impact on your environment.

On Sunday 11th July, the team from Brewers head office and the Eastbourne branch took part in the second Brewers clean, contributing seven miles to the million mile clean.

Eastbourne's five mile seafront has beautiful beaches, a three tier promenade and a Victorian pier making it a popular seaside holiday destination. The Brewers team cleaned from along the seafront and across the beaches from Holywell to the pier, collecting fifteen bags of litter.
