Brewers Presents Awards to Widnes College Students

Brewers North Region was delighted to be able to support Riverside College in Widnes, Merseyside at their painting and decorating department ceremony in June.

The college is a centre of vocational excellence that provides industry standard training, engineering and a construction skills centre.

Laurence Zing, Process Support Manager at Albany House organised the event, curated the gift bags and trophies and presented the awards for Student of the Year Level 1 & 2, and Apprentice Awards for years 1 & 2. There was also an award for Outstanding Achievement.

Area Development Manager, Steven Traynor said: ‘Seven years ago, we wanted to make contact with colleges in the area to build a relationship with them and help with student career talks, manufacturer visits and any local community projects.’

Laurence added: ‘Since the first event, which was just a few students in the classroom, this is now a proper awards ceremony which recognises the commitment of the students and tutors and every year it gets better and better.’
