Sandtex Trade earn their stripes!

August 21st, 2018

Sandtex Trade were delighted to be playing their part in the refurbishment of East Anglia’s distinctive Happisburgh Lighthouse, by donating more than 150 litres of our X-treme X-posure® Smooth Masonry paint – enough to repaint the entire exterior.

Happisburgh Lighthouse was opened in 1791 and is the only lighthouse in the UK which is independently run through a charitable trust, The Friends of Happisburgh Lighthouse. Only 10 per cent of lighthouses in the UK are striped as opposed to plain, and the Happisburgh Lighthouse’s red and white stripes are what makes it stand out to mariners.

The donation will be used to re-paint the lighthouse’s 85 foot exterior, using specially tinted paint to match the red of the iconic stripes. X-treme X-posure Smooth Masonry paint is the perfect choice for Happisburgh Lighthouse due to its durability in even the harshest conditions. Being right on the coast the lighthouse bears the brunt of the weather from wind driven rain to coastal tides so X-treme X-posure is a vital way to keep the lighthouse protected for longer.

With excellent adhesion properties, as well as being touch dry in 30 minutes and ready to re-coat within two to four hours, X-treme X-posure can quickly be applied to most exterior masonry surfaces, whether new or previously painted, with ease. X-treme X-posure provides the ultimate protection from the elements for up to 20 years.
