Supporting The Peel Project With Johnstone's Trade

Brewers were delighted to support The Peel Project with Johnstone’s Trade. Johnstone’s donated 200L of paint alongside our donation of preparation products and sundries with expert application advice to be able to redecorate the entire space, for its grand opening later this month!

More About The Peel Project:

The project is dedicated to enriching and supporting the local community of Hull, with a special focus on Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnicities. Their mission is to create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive environment where every individual feels valued and empowered.

They offer a wide range of activities and services designed to promote mental and physical well-being, social care, crime prevention, career support, and community building. Their approach is community-led and public sector-enabled, ensuring that the programmes are accessible, relevant, and impactful.

The Peel Project

Back in 2024, the organisation started developing a community gym project aimed at promoting health and wellbeing for residents in a disadvantaged area of Hull.

It was also envisioned that the space will also be used as a youth hub, creche, food bank and a support group for women, becoming a space all members of the community can greatly benefit from.

The project received a huge amount of support and community backing, with a major gym business donating all the gym equipment needed for the space along with grants and generous donations.
