Supporting The Tarner Community Project

The Brewers Foundation were delighted to be able to support The Tarner Community Project with the donation of Albany Masonry Paint and sundries for their public arts workshops and event mural projects which are held twice per year for the entire community.

Tarner Community Project is a charity based in Tarner Park, Brighton, dedicated to supporting the local community and providing all year-round activities for children and young people. With OFSTED good accreditation, they offer a caring, inclusive service. Healthy living and wellbeing are at the heart of everything they do with an emphasis on physical and outdoor activities. 

A major part of the community offer at The Tarner Community Project is to hold two annual day events for the entire community. These intergenerational, public events are planned in full by their dedicated youth advisory board and regular young people alongside staff. 

Completely funded from grant giving organisations, they run a full programme of cultural, arts, music and sports activities all for free on both event days. These enriching days see a footfall of over one thousand people at each event and are the cornerstone and annual celebration of their offer to a diverse community. 

These days allow Tarner to celebrate and support their local cultural, arts and sports organisations as well as offer unique learning and play based opportunities to one of the most deprived wards of Brighton. Here is just one of the murals created and it looks absolutely incredible! A huge congratulations to everybody at Tarner for creating a beautiful piece of art.
