Celebrating 30 Years Of The Learning Disability Charity, Kangaroos

The Brewers Foundation were thrilled
to be able to support the learning disability charity, Kangaroos, with a £250 donation towards their
30th birthday celebration – Kangafest!

Kangaroos supports children, teenagers
and adults with severe learning disabilities, providing year-round tailored
clubs and activities as well as family, parent and sibling programmes to
provide respite and support.
Their vision - people with learning
disabilities can exercise their right to leisure, play and recreational
activity in a safe and supported environment where all members are treated as
individuals.
Their mission - to bring colour to the
lives of people with learning disabilities. Kangaroos are a family-centred
disability charity offering a safe and supported environment with the aim to
push boundaries, offer fun and friendship, and to build independence,
confidence, and self-esteem. They call it the ‘Kangaroos Way’.
To celebrate 3 decades of this
incredible charity, Kangaroos organised Kangafest for all their our past and
present members, their families, volunteers and staff as well as the local
community.
Kangafest was a fully inclusive events,
filled with really fun activities including live
music, bubble workshops, animal handling, circus skills, huge train sets, giant
inflatables, face painting, balloon modelling, and a fantastic car display from
The Teddy Bear Run!
Over 300 people came to the event to celebrate and Kagafest was a huge success!
