Proud Sponsors of The Tree of Light

Every Christmas, the Rotary Clubs of Eastbourne, led by Melanie Adams (Global Head of Wallpaper Direct), organise a special Christmas tree outside the Congress Theatre in Eastbourne and 2022 was the 25th year. 

The special tree, covered in white lights invites the community to join them at the service before Christmas and tie a white ribbon in memory of a loved one. There were readings, songs from the team at The Royal Hippodrome Theatre, and music from Marcus Plant and members of the Eastbourne Silver Band. 

This year three local charities received cheques amounting to £1,800 each. These were “Children With Cancer Fund”, “The Matthew 25 Mission” helping the vulnerable, homeless and people in need and “Holding Space” an Eastbourne Family Mental Health Charity. 

The project could not happen without the support of local businesses and Brewers were only too happy to sponsor the project and provide extra support. The dedications to loved ones appear on the website, www.eastbournetreeoflight.co.uk and in a book of remembrance held in Eastbourne Library.
