Kerry Caffyn has worked with Brewers to produce an exclusive wallpaper collection filled with contemporary and retro designs, but more recently has turned her attention to ducks!
Kerry designed a duck for Follow that Duck, a live art trail where residents and visitors can discover 30 duck sculptures scattered between Bexhill-on-Sea and Hastings. Her design was selected to feature in Alexandra Park for all to enjoy.
Brewers are a proud sponsor of Follow that Duck, so we were delighted to hear Kerry taking part in the trail as well. We asked Kerrie what her main inspiration behind the duck design was:
“I was the only artist that drew my inspiration from ducks themselves, you could say that wasn’t very inspired, but some varieties are so beautifully iridescent that I just wanted to celebrate ducks.”
“Educationally I thought it would be good for kids to learn about two breeds of duck they might never see in their local duck pond, it has Mandarin duck one side and a Carolina Wood duck the other, hence the name Doubleduck.”
The beautiful sculpture can be found in Alexandra Park until the 4th of September and will be auctioned off for St Michael’s Hospice later in the year. Say goodbye to all the ducks at the Farewell event on the 17th and 18th of September.
