Donating Paint And Woodcare To Windmill Hill City Farm

45L of paint was recently donated to
Windmill Hill City Farm, a 4.5-acre green urban oasis with a mission to bring
experiences of food, farming and the environment to the heart of Bristol.
Based in South Bristol in one of the
20% most deprived areas of the country, the charity, aims to improve the lives
of local people by providing both community spaces (working farm, gardens,
café, community rooms) and services (education, health and social care,
childcare).
The pigs cannot wait to move into their new space!
The farm has an annual footfall of over 120,000, 130 staff plus 400 volunteers a year, allowing the organisation to thrive. It is well-used and well-loved by local people who regard it as essential in creating a sense of community for the area.
Windmill Hill City Farm offers
opportunities for the community to socialise, improve their wellbeing and learn
about farming and the environment, but as a site it also requires a significant
amount of maintenance to keep it running. Materials were desperately needed to
prolong the life of the buildings and gates, and improve the community space
for all to enjoy – both for visitors and the wellbeing and education groups.
Johnstone’s Stormshield Smooth
Masonry, Hammerite Rust To Metal Paint and Ronseal One Coat Fencelife was all
donated by the local store to refresh vital areas of the farm.
