Johnstone's Trade Joncryl Primer Undercoat is a low VOC content finish. A product which is thinned with water and is applied by brush, roller or spray and is suitable for interior and exterior use.
Johnstone's Trade Joncryl Primer Undercoat is a water-bourne combined primer and undercoat based on a high quality acrylic resin.
Suitable for use on concrete, cement rendering, wood, plaster, brickwork and blockwork.
Touch dry in 1 hour and recoatable after 1-2 hours.

Preparation
All surfaces to be painted should be clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material Rub down bare timber surfaces with dry glasspaper to remove raised grain and sharp edges. Apply Johnstone's Woodworks Knotting Solution to knots and resinous surfaces. Prime bare metal surfaces with the appropriate Johnstone's Primer. Rub down previously painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
Application
Stir thoroughly before use. Easy to apply by brush or roller. Also suitable for application by spray. Apply liberally, brushing firmly into the surface. Do not apply when the air or surface temperature is below 10∞C. or externally when rain is imminent.
Coverage
Johnstone's Joncryl will cover approximately 12-14 square metres per litre depending on the nature and porosity of the surface being painted.
Drying Time
Touch dry in 1 hour. Recoatable after 1-2 hours. High humidity and low temperatures will prolong drying times.
After Use
Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Replace lid firmly. Clean equipment immediately after use with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses.
General Information
Thinner: Clean water. To avoid the risk of spillage, always store and transport in a secure upright position. Lift with care - gross weight does not exceed 8 kilograms. Do not use empty container for storing food.
