Macpherson Gloss is a solvent-based, high VOC content gloss finish, suitable for interior and exterior use.

Using superior quality alkyd resins, the finish stays fresher for longer. It provides a tough, durable high sheen finish for wood and metal, providing a washable surface with good resistance to knocking and scuffing. 

It can be applied over most previously painted surfaces without an undercoat. On new surfaces apply over the top of a suitable primer and undercoat.

Application is recommended by bristle brush with coverage up to 15sq/m per litre. Touch dry in 4-6 hours and recoatable in 16 hours. 2 coats are recommended.

Additional Information

For Interior and Exterior use. A durable high gloss finish based on a alkyd resin with excellent opacity and light fastness. Suitable for the high gloss decoration of most correctly prepared interior and exterior surfaces.

Preparation and Application

  • Ensure all surfaces are sound, dry, clean and free from dirt, oil, grease or other contamination.
  • Bare surfaces should be primed with the appropriate Macpherson Primer.
  • Existing paintwork should be washed down with a warm water detergent solution and abraded, rinse with clean water prior to applying Macpherson Undercoat.
  • Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
  • Stir well before use. Always intermix packs for colour consistency. Please check for colour accuracy prior to application. Crown Paints is not liable for decorating costs caused as a result of an incorrect colour being applied.
  • A characteristic of the new technology used in this product is that whiteness intensifies as the paint dries.
  • Supplied for use by brush or roller.
  • Note: An additional coat of Macpherson Gloss may be necessary over some dark backgrounds.
  • Do not apply when air or substrate temperature is likely to fall below 8°C or when relative humidity is above 80% during application or drying period.
  • Our products are formulated to the highest quality, however recent changes made to meet the reduced solvent levels required by current legislation may in certain circumstances, such as lack of daylight, lead to white and very pale colours yellowing over time.
  • 12 - 15m² per litre. Do not over apply.
  • Touch dry from 6 hours. Recoatable after 16 - 24 hours. Ensure previous coat is fully dry before application.
  • Clean equipment immediately after use with a proprietary cleaner.

Ensure this pack is stored upright and secure at all times. Crown Paints Limited cannot accept liability for damage caused by spillage. Do not store below 5°C or above 40°C.
