In detail

Provides a high build finish to heavy areas of rust and also prevents new rust forming. 

Corrosion resistant and can be applied direct to rust. An anti-corrosive primer for ferrous metals. Compatible with most topcoats.

    Always ask your client to try their colour choice on the wall first. Colour cards and emulsion sample pots are available at your local Brewers or at designerpaint.com

    Additional information

    Surface Preparation
    • For maximum adhesion remove all loose rust and paint with a wire brush.
    • Remove grease with Hammerite Brush Cleaner and Thinners and allow to dry.
    • Remove dirt and salt deposits with dilute detergent, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry.
    • Abrade clean steel with abrasive paper to provide a key.

    Application
    • Ideal application temperature = 8°C to 25°C.
    Brush Application:
    • Stir primer thoroughly before use.
    • Apply two coats, allowing at least 6 hours between coats.
    Finishing:
    • A suitable Hammerite topcoat/paint system must be applied after a minimum of 6 hours. For best results allow 24 hours.

    Cleaning and Storage
    • Remove as much primer as possible from equipment before cleaning. For best results use Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners.
    • Hammerite No.1 Rust Beater should be stored in a dry well-ventilated area.
    • Protect from frost and direct sunlight.
