Helping students upcycle in Wrexham

June 5th, 2018

Students and staff at Coleg Derwen @ Ashdale House were thrilled to receive donations from Brewers Wrexham. The Vocational Pathway at Ashdale House provides students in Wrexham with learning difficulties, disabilities and challenging needs, the opportunity to learn a range of work-based activities in horticulture and conservation.

As the college is charity funded, they rely heavily on donations. Brewers Wrexham branch manager Shaun McKenzie, gladly supplied 7.5L of paint to help the students continue to grow their upcycling business Hŵre. The students are currently restoring reclaimed furniture.

Shaun has agreed to continue supplying Coleg Derwan @ Ashdale House with future paint donations, so we look forward to seeing more examples of the students fantastic transformations.

‘Please can we say a huge thank you to Brewers for their most generous donation in sponsoring us with paint for a whole year. I cannot express how much this means to us and our upcycling business Hŵre’, Lona Manford Satellite Manager at Ashdale.
