Celebrating Autumn With Copthorne Scout And Guide Hut Shrewsbury

The Brewers Foundation were delighted
to donate £500 worth of supplies to help transform the Copthorne Scout and
Guide Hut in Shrewsbury…just in time for their 50th Anniversary and
Autumn Fayre!
Through fun, friendship, challenge and
adventure the Copthorne Scout and Guide Hut empower girls and boys to find
their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a
positive difference in their community.
The Copthorne Scout and Guide Hut is
home to 10 units of Guiding and Scouting and helps over 100 children a week to
try to do their best. They have over 20 volunteers who help with the running of
the hut every week, with children range from 4 to 18 years of age.
The local community can also rent out
the space that also helps to raise vital funds for the Scouts and Guides, so
the redecoration was vital to create an appealing space.
The volunteers work hard to keep it
looking its best, but they were desperately in need of a repaint to help with the
ongoing damp issues in the building. Special mould products were donated along
with paint and sundries to help address the issues and create a much more
inviting space.
The autumn fayre was a fantastic
celebration in the refreshed space and has helped raise vital funds for a new
fire door.
