Icing On The Cake

Brewers Corby were delighted to help a local charity with an unusual request – some bright pink paint for a giant 5-foot cake-shaped fundraising display!
Branch Manager Mark Wallis was contacted by local resident Cat Varley who was helping with an initiative to support two charities. The charities were a local children’s hospice called Rainbows and Felix Refettorio, which provides meals and support for vulnerable and disadvantaged people in London, with links to Corby.
Mark said: ‘They were making a large MDF board cut into the shape of a four-tier wedding cake to track fundraising progress. I thought it would be a great chance to show off our brand-new Albany range as well as do something good for a local charity initiative, so we donated 2 tins of Albany Vinyl Matt in a very vibrant pink!’
The aim is to raise £40,000, through a series of local events, and the progress will be shown on the cake by painting a tier for each £10,000 raised.
Cat approached Brewers after they gave her some great advice: ‘You recommended the wonderful Neil, who has transformed my house and done a fantastic job, and so I thought of you guys immediately.’
The company organising the fundraising, Fiona Cairns, sent a lovely thank you note to the branch and a much-appreciated box of goodies!
