Supporting The Fans Museum Sunderland
August 21st, 2024
Brewers were thrilled to support The
Fans Museum Sunderland with the donation of 50L of Albany Masterdec to
help maintain the 60 benches they have around the exterior of the building
which is a focal point for all supporters (home and away) to meet and converse
on match days and enjoy the experience while viewing the vast amount of
memorabilia within the museum.
The fans museum is a hub for everyone
to engage in, as football brings the community together through their common
interest. Some people maybe in life have felt excluded, alone, or unconfident
and this gives them the chance to mix and meet new people and develop their
social skills.
The museum is unique as fans visiting from
all around the world can experience the huge collection of football memorabilia
and even try some of it on! They strive to support all members of the
community (young and old!) including those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia,
veterans and many more more.
Back in 2021,
Brewers were delighted to also support the museum with the creation of a
memorial garden, where people within the community were encouraged to come down
and paint a pebble in their loved one’s memory. Albany Masonry Paint was
donated for the community to create their pebbles. The garden became a welcomed
addition to the museum, to reflect on those lost and the positivity they
brought.
