Get to Know our #ProudDecorators!

July 18th, 2022

Every month we are lucky enough to see hundreds of #ProudDecorators on Instagram sharing their incredible work, and behind every post is a decorator with a story.

We got in touch with Jason and Polly who are just two of our winners of our #ProudDecorator competition who we treated to £100 worth of Brewers vouchers to spend on their next project.

Polly has been a painter and decorator for nearly 4 years with a real eye for design and colour: “I enjoy helping my clients create a ‘new’ part of their home. I also love discussing colour options and ideas with them.”

The passion for transformation can be seen from Polly’s most recent job…updating a huge kitchen! “So many cupboards needing painting! Such a transformation and a real wow factor without anything going to landfill.”

When looking for the perfect finish, Polly turns to Armstead Durable Matt and Dulux Diamond Matt whilst also using Little Greene a more recently: “I love their colour palettes and finish.”

Working with colour a lot in the decorating industry, it can be difficult to settle on a favourite colour, but Polly said: “I’m really enjoying the pale eau de nil/pistachio greens at the moment. They give a lovely soft fresh but cosy feel to a room.”

We were also really excited to hear that the Brewers vouchers will be spent on Polly’s own home: “I’ve just moved home so I’m going to treat myself to paints for the new house as I’ve so many ideas and can’t wait to get started!”

We cannot wait to see what your new home will look like once it’s all decorated Polly!

Jason Maunders of DS Property Services started decorating in 2011, working as a sub-contractor painting children’s parks in Kent: “From there we’ve just gone from strength to strength, now covering all aspects of decoration from external to internal and even spray works, specialising in Victorian properties.”

Jason enjoys working with a variety of different trade quality paint brands: “We absolutely love decorating using a variety of different brands like Farrow and Ball, Dulux, Mylands, Little Greene and Albany are just a few to mention."

"There's no better feeling than making our clients happy turning their house into a home and we treat every job as if we were decorating our own homes."

"We prefer to use the higher quality brands as we feel it helps us achieve a high-quality finish. Brands like Farrow and Ball and Mylands we also recommend to our clients as they are more durable paints and easier to maintain.”

Jason is proud of all his painting and decorating jobs, as every job provides a fresh set of challenges to overcome and learn from, including the decorating a Grand Designs build in Beckenham, Kent which was a stunning build and finished beautifully.
