Brewers Saffron Walden gave a local school a big helping hand in the summer by donating paint and supplies to refurbish their buildings – as well as a charity donation.

Before and after!

Mary Compton, Co-Chair of the school said: ‘Many thanks to Brewers for their kind donation and for all your help in the process. The project was a tremendous success and far outweighed our expectations.’

Henham and Ugley Primary and Nursery School embarked on a five-week project to repaint classrooms and communal areas, create a sensory room and an IT room, tidy the school grounds, paint the front exterior and give the staff room a makeover.

Branch Manager at Saffron Walden, Dave Barnes said: ‘The school got in contact with us to ask for support, and we were happy to donate 40 litres of Albany paint along with other some other paint and decorating supplies. We also organised a £100 donation to help them.’

The project was a huge community effort which involved a remarkable 280 days of voluntary help and £70,000 in donations.
